Specifically the spindle should lay right between your 1st and 5 metatarsal. Spelling?
That is the bone protruding left and right of the balls of your feet./OR as far back as you can get it. More forward is almost definitely mistake to make.
Cramps are caused by fatigued muscle! Nothing to do with minerals.
Ask anyone whose cramping and they will tell you they either did a heavy leg workout the day before. or were cycling on their tip toes! Just ask mr @Razzle
Interesting, not the tip toe thing but nowt worse than getting cramp when in a mummy sleeping bag in a zipped up tent at 3 am in the morning.. personally ive only ever cramped when I have dehydrated but that could be down to more effort / exertion and dehydration simply being a byproduct ..??
Exactly that. Longest boundary pushing rides that would have i duced dehydration that I have done, and perhaps had twinges days after was muscle fatigue.
Sleeping bag sounds like hiking. And people dont hike all that much in preperation for hiking. So physically unprepared so to speak.
I'll see your sleeping bag and raise it a hammock.
The cramp caused by a sudden movement from a sleeping position is probably different from the cramp caused by dehydration that seems to be the case here. A lot of research has gone into the link between electrolytes and cramp - salt and cramp and potassium and cramp.
Bananas have lots of potassium - beer has some but not much so either eat one banana or drink four beers - you choose. just remember what beer will do for your bladder if you are sleeping in a mummy bag or a hammock.
