A good result and the correct result. Personally I would go for the white with free wheels, but that is partly because I am not keen on the black.

Same here, I really like white bikes. They don't half get grubby though.

Just an update incase anyone comes across this thread in future!
Forks would not fit as you have guessed, they are through axle and so dont go with the disc wheels I have. I wrote an email to LBS this morning explaining really not happy, have a mismatch of a bike through no fault of my own - got a phone call from them couple of hours later, here were my choices, keep white frame, get new forks put on and new wheels all at Giants cost, or get 2016 frame (which is mostly black) fitted instead (this would be identical to my original frame/forks.
I'm tempted at this moment to go for the new fork and wheels, might not be my accepted colour but I can probably live with it for a 'free' upgrade.
Chuffed with Giant to be honest, although they could have offered to do the fork/wheels at the start without me having to complain. Happy with end result though...

how could you be chuffed you have ended up with a mish mash , send it back and insist on what you deserve

Funnily enough I had the exact same bike (2014) model which also developed a crack in the downtube. It had cracked 2/3 of the way around before I noticed it as it was hidden beneath the black paintwork. Took it back to my LBS who in turn contacted Giant. A new frame was delivered within a week, no questions. Also managed to get them to give me the new wheels that came with the bike in exchange for my old battered originals.

Luckily the difference between the 2014 and 2015 model meant an upgrade to Shimano 105 5800 which is just so much better than 5700. On the downside there was a slight colour change on the frame and the white colour was more dominant on the newer bike which although wasn't a massive difference I never really got comfortable with.

I ended up selling that bike a couple of months ago though as I was never happy with the performance of the TRP Spyre brakes on either of the bikes. I'm intending on purchasing a Cube Cross Race Pro in October as its replacement.
