I'm not the biggest fan of covers but for my two-penneth - any cover done by Lissie - Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, Led Zepp's Stairway to Heaven, Metallica's Nothing Else Matters! I love the last two's originals but Lissie just brings something else to the party.

With the Stairway link I even had the bonus of Miss Pendleton staring back at me for an ad.

Finally, what I think is possibly the best cover ever - Little Boots out Bushing Kate Bush with Running Up That Hill. Turn them up load, shut your eyes and sing along.

I hate that song with a vengeance, no matter who sings it
So here in 'tribute' rather than cover, is Dana Carvey:

Anything by Eva Cassidy, but especially Blue eyes crying in the rain.

Elvis - Bridge over troubled water, even Paul Simon agrees.

During that summer season in Vegas, Paul Simon attended one of the shows, and, after seeing Elvis perform the song, he was reported to have said, "That's it, we might as well all give up now."
