For chain cleaning, I quite like this-

Costs a bit more than the cloth option, but seems to do the trick. I use muc-off too when it's filthy, baby wipes when it's not too bad.

Eating- find a recipe for fruity flapjacks. Chuck loads of dried fruit in- chopped apricots, even bits of cherry. Just don't eat too many...

Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance and Road Bike Maintenance (Guy Andrews) are good. I find the former very detailed sometimes too detailed sometimes and prefer the image led approach adopted in the 2nd.

If you want really detailed the first book is your bet, if you want something that is easier to follow IMO go with the 2nd
