Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
well may take you up on that - especially if "entertaining" is a euphemism.
Have long heard of the place but never been sure where it was - clearly has slipped into the gap between places I do know - Leeds, Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford - am a fan of places/life in the gap so will def check out - it does sound interesting from a quick scan of wiki, though I was too nervous to click on the link - the town that dare not speak it's name - whatever that was about.
The 'dare not speak it's name' refers to two things: one of the London bombers plus Karen Matthews (Shannon Matthew's mum/kidnapper).

Given I live there ...

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's no Lucy Woolf in Dewsbury. And definitely not one who's very wealthy. Oh, and it's a known scam for the past couple of years so she's probably about 28 now  . If there was a wealthy young lady in the town most of us would know.

Forget ordering that new expensive bike
I thought there was a couple of Lucy Woolf’s one from Saville town, the other in Dewsbury Moor, the £5,700,000 house is apparently in Batley with scenic views of an old woollen mill

Hello Dear,

Good day dear, I am sorry to disturb you with my life issue but I seek your advice. My name is Lucy Woolf; I'm a Brit who lives in Dewsbury England. I attend university and I do part time work as a dressmaker. I lost my father in an auto accident prompting my mother’s death because of it.
My Father, Jacobs Woolf, willed me a large portion of his real estate holdings and income properties valued at £5,700,000 Pounds Sterling. I have yet to place a claim on it but right now things are not good and I'd like to have it. My Fathers stipul

ation was that I was either 30 years of age or married.
(Allowing my Husband to be in control). I am 26 so only my husband can make a claim on my behalf. I’d like to offer you the opportunity to stand in as my Husband and will share it for your assistance. Your interest will be properly protected.

Thanks.

Lucy Woolf.

[I don't recall anything similar claiming to be from the UK, though I have had some allegedly Ukrainian spam recently]

I haven't seen one like that for years, I used to get the Russian widows who wanted to borrow my bank account , but when I moved away from Windows they stopped, as did most of the spam E-Mails.

If it were me, I would reply and ask why she has to make a claim on her own inheritance? I’m no lawyer but my understanding is that a beneficiary doesn’t claim their own inheritance. She would just need to prove the conditions are met. Which in her case would be the production of her marriage certificate. Much easier than involving a stranger in inheritance fraud. Obviously a scam

She’s not married, so needs the OP to be her husband.

My first rule for replying to scammers: never reply to scammers.

She is married. She stated that the point of this "proposal" was to prevent her husband from getting all the money.
That wasn’t how I read it. I think she isn’t married and needs a husband to get the cash, as she is too young.
But I’d need my lawyer to give it the once over.

I read it a third time. I see your point; the "husband" she refers to, is probably a husband in the event that she gets married to (or pretends to be married to). I read it as someone who already existed, but she didn't want him to receive all her inheritance. I don't think the OP is going to worry whichever the intent of the meaning though.

Apart from being slightly cross-eyed she seems jolly nice

Apparently she has confused me with her friend "Mike" and now is wondering why I'm not replying
