I agree that food tech lessons in school have gone downhill since my day. My kids just ended up being food assembly. I remember the pizza one, they had to bring in pizza dough, tomato paste, grated cheese, sliced food. Presumably the lesson is too short to actually do any preparation in class. They also made a salad one lesson and a fruit salad another lesson. Whereas I remember having much more complicated foods to cook.

My home economics lessons consisted of copying down a simple recipe, and cooking it, without supervision, the following week. Usually, mum and I would come up with something a bit tastier for me to prepare (self preservation on her part as the family would have to eat it).

Forget lemon cakes!!
Save the juice(of two lemons) for your pancakes on Shrove Tuesday :hungry:

Even better: have a lemon cake today, and get some more lemons to squeeze over your pancakes tomorrow.

Don't wait for some silly religious holiday for an excuse to have pancakes - they're perfect any day of the year.

Those aren't pancakes!!! They're loofahs  No wonder you think they're xx(...

We do french-style crepes chez Casa Reynard. I like em with butter & brown sugar, or butter and syrup (golden or maple), and if I'm feeling extra indulgent, with bitter chocolate sauce and brandied whipped cream...
Cellulose sponge...which is what pancakes are like in terms of texture and taste!
