Having been looking at getting a cyclo-cross bike for a bit of commuting and fun weekend riding (no specific CX racing).

Interestingly, a guy at my work has offered me a great deal on his 2010 Boardman Hybrid Pro.

The size is right, so I wondered how hard it would be to fit drop bars and new shifter/brakes? Even if I could fit drop bars (which i prefer) and keep the existing flat bar shifts and brakes.

Any views ?

Apparently it costs quite a bit to switch flat to drops as the cables, brake levers and shifters all have to be changed.

You *can* get bolt-on drop-style bar ends that you could attach to the flat bars. of course you cant shift or brake when on the drops..

Ive got a set but not to hand.
