I noticed the police being a bit more proactive in grabbing the runners this year, but they really do need to sort it out, it is so dangerous and can ruin the racing...

Whatever Contador has or hasn't done, his job is to ride a bike. If the authorities can't get their act together to issue a proper verdict he should have the right to work without idiots like that interfering in what is already a demanding and dangerous job.

Anyone remember Bugno getting knocked off by a spectator in the Tour in the early 90s? It was on a hairpin in the mountains and Bugno shoved his front wheel into the offenders face.

And we can't leave 'cyclists getting punchy' without mentioning Hinault's spectacular assault on strikers on Paris Nice - ride into them and start punching as soon as you come to a stand still! Didn't he one say his favourite bit about going to school was getting into fights on the way? You can take the boy out of Brittany...

LMAO. That B&W photo--I know the guy facing away with his hands up is probably trying to keep other people from joining in and generally trying to calm things down, but the angle of the shot makes it look like he's about to flee in panic.
