Communication with BT!!

Just tried the telephone option for opening a new account with BT and got through first time... mind you they refused to transfer me. ( said they were unable ) I'll just stop the direct debit and wait for them to ring me. I think Lloyds or Nat West has an Indian call centre and yes I have trouble with the accent too. Mind you I was having some difficulty with a Scottish one the other day too so I suspect it's more me than them

I made the mistake of signing up for free evening and weekend calls only to find that it constituted a 18 month new contract with a penalty clause. All I want to know is what the penalty is for closing the account early - not too much to ask surely... Anybody out there got an idea please -

A lot unforunately.. you can assume 25 times the number of months left on that pernicious contract.. I have just binned BT off for the same reason .. zilch value for money...... BT will just whistle for their penalty bill for a while as I am more likely to be on min wage from Feb 2009.. and thats that....they can threaten bailiffs if they like.. but I have dealt with uglier credit chasers than them before...
