Purveyor of fine nonsense
I was watching Fawlty Towers last night on DVD, there were two points at which I almost peed myself and couldn't breathe for laughing:

From Series 1, Episode 1 - Basil is complaining about the quality of the guests:

Basil: "Have you seen the people in room six? They've never even sat on chairs before!"

From Series 1, Episode 6 - Basil is having an argument with the German guests:

Basil: "Well, you started it!"
German guest: "We did not start it."
Basil: "Yes you did! You invaded Poland!"

Auf Wiedersehen Pet Series 2 - not sure of the episode name - when the lads brick up the pub landlord's front door and then phone him asking him to come out ....

(I only just survived the first time I watched it, and still have tears running down my cheeks every time I see it)

My favourite Fawlty Towers episode is the one where they get the builders in. They block up the wrong wall and I think the major says something about he's sure the door will turn up eventually.

I've been rewatching Father Ted recently and most of the ones with Bishop Brennan I find hilarious like the plague where they have a rabbit infestation and much of the episode has been building up to the Bishop finding the rabbits and Ted has been stalling and pretends to go to the toilet and the bishop says but there aren't any toilets in this room.

First date with my then girlfiend now wife when she teetered down a seaweed encrusted slipway in highheels and a micro skirt and ended up on her bum with her legs in the air. I dont believe I've ever been on a more enjoyable date. Strangly she didn't see the funny side of it and still doen't........

Fawlty Towers was outstanding in the way it piled one gag on another in an unending stream that left you gasping....there's one sequence in Manuel's Rat which begins with Basil's 'It's a rat! You have rats in Spain don't you, or did Franco have 'em all shot?' and ends a good dozen gags (albeit only a minute or so) later, with Sybil: Perhaps it would be best to have it put to S. L. E. E. P.' Basil: Who? Him or the rat?

Only the time when I was driving the Students' Union minibus along Blackrock Sands with two blokes surfing behind on a car bonnet attached to the towbar. One of them was the climbing club muppet so when I saw a stream running across the beach I calculated when they would be almost in it and hit the brakes hard. Both tumbled off and got a complete soaking; my GF and I were so hysterical with laughter that we fell out of the bus and lay gasping and helpless on the sand. Understandably the two blokes picked me up and threw me in the water but it was worth getting wet.

I can laugh so hard I throw up. Fortunately it tends not to happen in front of the TV, unfortunately it did happen at Christmas dinner once - I found out my father was petrified of party poppers.
