Looking at new bits for my Triban. It is red (cos they goes faster) and currently has a black Spoon and black tape attached

Silver tape, pimp it up (definitely lose the black)

Black and black for me on a black bike, although there are splashes of yellow on the tape to match the bike decals (I like black )

I don't think brown/tan looks right on a red bike. Sorry.
has to be black/black. Or red/red. Or white/white - but that'd dirty quick.

Black and black - certainly bar tape. Two road bikes with black and black, one with black tape and white saddle as the bike came with it - it's so far OK, but soon get's 'mucky'. FS MTB is silver and neon green, so saddle is black with some neon green 'flashes' as standard, but I fitted neon green grips as they are easy to clean (and you can find the bike after you crash into the bushes).

Black or any variation of brown, although ideally matched whatever the colour.

I think browns (esp. dark) work well on darker / burgundy type hues; not sure about lighter / more flashy reds.

I have red/black camo bar tape on my black framed bike with other red details like QR levers and valve caps.

I had a red bike once and it came with a white saddle and white tape. I liked it and left it like that. It’s now under the ownership of my son who has changed the tape to red.

That seems as it should be to me, though using red tape wouldn't be wrong either.

Saddle should always be black unless it is leather.

Now that’s a whole new can of worms. Could have dark brown or black with red stitching

I have actually considered a red/black chain to go with my black frame, with many red details but I decided it was a step too far
