Get thee sen downt local wine bar,try some of this arty farty new ales,some with a hint of grapefruit,or pomegranate or some other piggin flavour.A cloudy pint always cleared me out.Mind you a good curry and a few bottles of porter would be my prescription.

What is that causes a person with reasonable intelligence to want to be a proctologist ( I think thats the term, bum doctor will do if it isn’t ) I mean.. really… wouldn’t you really rather be a titty doctor or some other much nicer thing?

I cannot comment on Doctors who specialise in it, but I once asked my Stoma nurse how she had ended up as such and she said that she'd started off doing other specialties and then just sort of fell into it (pardon the pun).

I imagine that the only way to get a rectal probe for free in the US is to be abducted by aliens.

Meanwhile, it's my ambition to live long enough to collect a full set of -oscopies. Pity they don't let you keep a picture as a souvenir. Though I suppose it's not like Youth Hostelling of old, where you had a stamp from every Hostel you stayed in.

I have a picture of my large intestine when they removed it a few years back (Severe Ulcerative Colitis).
I asked as I was curious to see it.
I might not have a picture of what it was like inside, but I have a picture of the outside, in the form of an angry looking red 'U'. 😆

Anyway, by the end (pardon the pun), before the surgery to remove sick colon, I was just like

'I don't care, stick anything you like up there!'*

I also remember surprising a nurse by having a colonoscopy without the sedation.

'Trust me, I've had larger things up there!'. 😆

I wont be having any more and one does have to wonder how they will deal with me when the time eventually comes to have one. Do they stick a mini one in the Stoma? 🤔

* - More so than usual I mean 😆.
