Have you thought about decathlon kit - always a good bang for your buck..

I find that the Decathlon 700 padding is very good quality for the price and very comfy on long rides over 5+ hours.

I found the same issue with Shimano Saint pedals. Some places had them for £53, others were reduced to about £30 and someone on eBay was selling them for £26. I didn't end up getting them in the end but probably would have paid the £30 to get them from a decent retailer.
