Moleskin 'Breeks' fit the bill?

I admit to rather liking those. And I don't live anywhere near Cambridge. But I'll make do with my Endura Humvees, or Altura equivalent thereof.

Whilst I kid myself I don't follow fashion or care what others think I admit I am too shy to wear breeks outside a hillwalking / outdoors context. I'd wear 'em all the time otherwise as they are superbly practical and comfortable. That said, I was complemented (without irony) on being well dressed in my tweed breeks in the supermarket carpark in Fort William. However they are not wholly unusual worn in Scotland and it was the tail end of a hillwalking trip.

Amusingly the breeks were part of a "shooting suit". I wanted a smart tweed jacket, and the breeks seemed a bonus for hillwalking but I had to buy the matching full lenght rousers to make a tweed suit special order. I don't go shooting

I'm in my 40's and still dress like a student. I'm not fussed by fashion, I like clothes to be functional / practical and good quality. I only do smart if I have to, in other words if the missus insists! I'm happy with my appearance and still feel young at heart. My partner is just a few year younger and has started asking me if she should wear bigger swimsuits on holiday given her age. To which I reply, you still look great for your age, enjoy it and keep wearing the thongs!

I think some of us have been trying to demonstrate that 'dressing your age' is just dull, and unnecessary, whatever sex you are.

It's a balance in my view. I'm 62 but slipped in to Mr M&S a long time ago. My eldest son works in men's fashion, has great taste and is extremely careful about his clothing.

A couple of years ago he took on my clothing and I now have a great collection of shirts, sweaters and a couple of jackets most of which is from Jack Jones. A shop I would never have entered. Safe in the knowledge my son wouldn't be seen dead with a badly dressed father I now wear better and more stylish clothing than at anytime in my life. It encouraged me to lose weight and I'm 29 pounds lighter than 18 months ago. He chooses, I pay!

I now feel well dressed, fashionable, comfortable and without the look of 62 year old trying to look 30! Done wonders for my self-image.

Still shop in M&S for trousers, jeans or a suit as I'm a 29" inside leg and I like the cut. Finding more stylish trousers that I feel comfortable wearing from both the fit and self-image aspects is difficult.

Still very much enjoy shorts/ T shirt in summer and walking trousers and fleece when the mood takes me.

in the town where I used to live, every one dresses in shell suits.
It looks like a mini Olympic village

That's nice, I have dread of turning into a pensioner with brown "comfy" shoes, beige trousers, a beige jumper, cream shirt and a jaunty olive coat.

One thing I like about my Vespa over my motorbike is that there isn't a gear leaver to make an imprint in my nice shoes. ^_^ I should say boots, I never wear shoes.
