hi i have shimano ultegra carbon clipless peddles and use shimano ro77 shoes, i want crank brothers candy 2 mtb clipless pedals, my questions are

does it matter if they are mtb when i have a hybrid?
will my shoes be able to use cleats that they need, also what cleats?
now they look like they would clip in different but will i get the same feel?

Thanks again, plenty more questions for you all in good time

Hi

The answers are

1 - no
2 - The candy cleats are two bolted affairs - they screw into the two little slots in the middle sole. I'm pretty certain your shoes have these- please check.
3 - Personally I find the feel a little less positive and less powerful if you get what I mean. You are working through a smaller medium and you might also find that you develop hot spots - some people do some don't.

The main difference between the types are, the mountain bike pedals are designed with offroad riding in mind e.g. mud clearance, this will have disadvantages as stated in the post above.
The road pedals have a bigger platform therefore will allow a greater power transfer to the pedals.
There are lots of variables depending on style of riding, shoes used and where you are riding etc.
