Clicking on all of my bikes

Could be something along these lines. Last winter I had a click per pedal revolution that once it started on my ride it did not go away. It was always from the right side. It would start at varying distance into the ride. What did it turn out to be? Well, I was wearing cheapo overshoes and at some point into the ride one of the velcro fastening tabs popped open and then clipped the chain stay on each pedal stroke. Almost sent me nuts before I found the cause.

I had a really annoying intermittent clicking on my Basso; it took me ages to spot what it was. It turned out that when I had my bike on a particular chainring (I forget which), the end of the gear cable to the front derailleur stuck out just enough to catch my right shoe once per pedal revolution.

PS Check your bikes for that problem, Matthew!

Er, yes, I eventually worked that one out ... which is what I was getting at!

Was aimed at Matthew as he said his cables were not near his feet, well the front mech is. Having seen how he left the cables on the muddy fox, I'd be inclined to think they are too long.

Ah, ok!

The little alloy cap on the end of my front mech cable just peeked out enough to catch my right foot when I changed to either my inner or outer ring. (I can't remember which, and I have a different front mech on now.)
Your knees Matthew:ohmy:
I've already suggested that (or his ankle)!
