You only find out how good an online retailer is when you have a problem.

OK, so the likes of Ribble have trouble even getting the basics right but most are able to send the correct item, well packaged and in a reasonable amount of time for a decent price.

Only when you have a problem; eg. warranty claim etc. do you really find out how good the company is.

So, I've shopped at Wiggle and CRC lots over the years and their customer service is generally very good, Wiggle especially (most of the time). and companies like dotbike.com are outstanding - shame about the prices and limit selection.

Anyway, to the point:

I recently started shopping at CycleSportsUK. Their prices were keen and the goods always arrived within 2 days (free shipping on everything). As a result I started shopping there more and more. Then I had a problem; and what happens? They completely ignore all my emails!!!

I'm now happily back with my old friends; Wiggle and CRC!

There isn't much stuff I buy from cycling retailers, but I generally like to find the cheapest online retailer, then get Evans to match it in store. That way if I have any problems I just walk in and talk to someone, rather than having to faff with emails and deliveries.

Wiggle are brill at returns. Just accepted a 16 month old Charge Knife saddle back, no problem. My query about warranty was answered with two emails within 5 minutes, one confirmation of query, one telling me the warranty period and to send back for a new one.
