Yes. I, er, should do this too.

Pulled out while accelerating away from a traffic light and kicked my front wheel hard enough to buckle it. Stayed on the bike, but it was definitely a surprise (and a slower ride home, what with the wheel rubbing ont he brake block every revolution)
bloody hell!

What signs do you get when they're on their way?

I mean do they pop out of the pedal easily? Make funny sounds?

Mine wouldn't disengage correctly, when I looked at the cleats There were bloody great chunks out of it where it had broken apart.....

Dug my old Nike Poohbahs out of the atic and attached them to my very old MKS spds....not as good as the road shoes but they'll do for now.

Even SPD's wear...sometimes prematurely......

Know where you are coming from Vike - pulled my left leg out whilst sprinting away from lights on fixed......cue mad comedy 'bobbing'... did it a few times, then changed the left cleat (it was only 3 months old).....

It did help though........... on the Track in November I pulled out of Looks on the 250m sprint, not once but 4 times.................. and I use Looks on my road bikes, but have the tension tight.
