The 3M spoke reflectors that I bought from Lidl are amazing; I really think they make a huge difference to how visible I am on dark nights. But I noticed the other day that they're really filthy, they still work but I couldn't help but think that if they were a bit cleaner then maybe they'd work a little better, be a bit brighter and make me feel a bit safer.

So I decided to put them through the dishwasher, using an old washing tab net bag to stop them falling through the gaps in the cutlery rack.

It made only a very marginal difference.

Usually I find your posts amusing and in the case of the chilli thread, highly informative.

This one has me chuckling under my breath in a 'what did I expect' vane. Its like being a kid who is trying not to laugh at the back of a very serious assembly.

It's so ridiculous, it's brilliant. Did you not think of a bowl of water and rubbing some between your hands.

The more I edit the this post, the More funny I find it.

Well done.

Carry on.

they do seem remarkably resistant to being cleaned, if you scrub them too hard the reflective coating starts to peel away.

I cleaned some Aldi ones in soapy water with a scourer. Took about 5 minutes and they looked like new.

Some people over-engineer things...
