Leave the white spirit in a jar until the muck settles out, then pour the clean off the top and re-use it.

I once did that, it took about 9 months to go clearish. Good idea though.

Yes, the brand new member requested that the a/c be deleted after a very short* stay.

It's a useful thread. I've never thought of white spirit as a chain cleaner. That's changed!

IMO paraffin / kerosene is better as it's more mobile (so more likely to penetrate into the chain) and more volatile - so if left long enough after dripping dry the excess should evaporate off.
