Well, yes, but it also happens to be true. Cinelli complete bikes are generally sold at a premium which does not make them good value when compared to equivalent spec bikes from other manufacturers. Unless of course, you feel the Cinelli name justifies a higher price tag. Personally, I'm not convinced on that.

Having something different is worth a premium to me

Don't worry about it - because having something different is worth the premium, apparently.

Alternatively, my suggestion would be to look on the Evans site - where there are currently some CX bargains with better specs at lower prices.

What are you looking for? A full on CX or rugged commuter?

I did 80 miles on my new £500 2014 Boardman CX team yesterday. No complaints other than numb fingers from too thin bartape!

My Boardman is v shiny
They do have a few In 53cm if on the tallish size

Otherwise how about a Genesis of some flavour, like a Croix de fer?

I think a bare bicycle is a beautiful thing. A masterpiece of engineering. Covering a frame in all those graphics makes it as desirable as toothpaste.
