I used those liner things years ago. I happily consigned them to the bin once Puncture resistant tyres came in. Trying to get them in and lined up in the centre of the tyre was the equivalent of clamping your fingers in a vice :becool:

I didn't know they still made them. I might buy some to set fire to and laugh.

The sealant stuff you spray in after the event is, IME, rubbish. However, all our 'cross bikes have the green tape in the tyres and whilst I can't prove cause and effect, we have had far fewer punctures since we used it.

They weren't great, but I don't recall having any problem fitting them (and believe me, I didn't do technical back in them days). I've still got them if you want a sample for burning!

I'm not quite sure what Abitrary is on about, he seems to be confusing tyre liners with tubes.
