Hi Richie,
As you've had no answers so far I thought I'd chip in!
I haven't ridden any of these bikes but I work a few day a week in a bike shop so I am familiar with them...
They are all decent bikes for the money.
None of them have any problems as far as I am aware...
I think the Kona shares the same frame as its more expensive brothers & sisters (Dew+ etc).
The Scott looks cool.
The Ridgeback is a sturdy workhorse.
All of them will handle light offroad duties.
I don't think you'll go far wrong with any of them for the price.
Choose the one you like!
I think the lbs would probably fit a longer stem FOC if you needed a bit more reach.Havent ridden a sportser but I have a speedster that is a joy to ride.
Thanks guys tried a few more a went for the Scott sub 40 in the end, felt good on the test ride and size was spot on for me. Pick it up next week. Looking forward to shaving a few minutes off my commute time and not being passed all the time. The Solo was good but I noticed the lack of gears on such a long commute.
