I live in London so will be mainly using it to cycle to work and back and also to cycle to friends houses. I'm not really sure what the pros and cons of each bike are so any advice would be much appreciated!

I think that the luna might be faster and the orchid might be more comfortable. I would need cycling to work to be quite low effort so that I didn't turn up too sweaty!

The orchid has hydraulic disc brakes - are these a hassle to maintain or are they better?

The orchid also has a single chainset type whereas the luna has compact - unsure of the pros and cons of this?

two quite different bikes there for sure

both good in own right

my suggestion would be to try both and see which one you find easier and more comfy to ride

Hi @Lauren666666 and welcome

the main question her is have you tried either? its going to be your bike so it needs to work for you. if you are to enjoy the bike you need to be confident and comfortable on it.

are you tied to Tredz for your scheme? they seem quite expensive for pretty standard bikes imho. I bought my daughter a ridgeback similar to the orchid you've linked to which has better components for cheaper.

I know which one I would go for if i was limited to those options but my reasons may be completely different to yours.

this is definitely the place to ask questions so good luck with your search and purchase

It's whichever suits you and the cycling you'll be doing best so you really need to try them.

That said, they both seem a tad expensive for the specs - unless you're tied to Tredz for C2W you'll get better spec elsewhere for your money.

Edit to add: if you're buying a bike on C2W, don't forget to factor in a good quality D-lock and things like lights, etc, as well as insurance
