Hi all,
Going to hopefully upgrade my Vitus ALU bike for something carbon over the winter.
Always like to do something different than the norm so was considering a Dengfu FM098 frame which receives overwhelmingly positive reports.

I prefer the look of the workswell-r-081 though I can't find any reviews on that particular frame, though people are complimentary of the company. Also go under the name Sobato on EBay - linky.(disc version but they do standard brake & QR as well)

Anyone any experience???

No personal experience but Hong Fu seem to be one if the better suppliers ....

I have an FM098 at the moment. Have had it for 18 months and 10,000 miles. Second season racing it and it has been fine. For the money it has been good. Dengfu were easy to deal with. Don't forget you will probably need to pay customs and a handling fee.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear of another happy customer! Yeah, need to budget for the customs too but still cheap overall I reckon.

Denfu certainly seem to be the no.1 Chinese frame manufacturer. My first choice would be the new Hongfu r05 frame but they dont deliver it to the UK for some reason :headshake: plus there's not many reviews of it yet.

no experience of these Chinese manufacturers but just a thought: would I trust frame/forks made on the cheap and not to British/EU safety standards whilst going 45 mph down a hill? NO I wouldn't

Who said they were made on the cheap and would not conform to these standards?

That's why I'm sticking to the handful of reputable Chinese companies. Dengfu list their frames as meeting EN standards and practically all positive reviews for their fm098 frame.

You wouldn't ride bikes from Ribble or Planet X either then?

Wasn't it Giant who had to recall a load of forks due to them snapping?

What do you think of the disc brakes? Had half a notion of going for them along with carbon wheels.
Got discs on both my bike and wont ever go back to rim brakes.......easy to use and set-up, no squeeling and can stop from speed when descending. Whats not to like ;)
