Cheshire: Bob Clift 25/50/100 miles

Just heard that the Bob Clift Memorial run is a bit down on numbers this year. It's on Sunday, 17 June. 25/50/100 mile variants. Entry fee for the 50 and 100 is £8 or £10 on the day. More details here:

I'll be doing the 100. It's my 4th year in a row. Hope the weather's better thn last year, rained all day!!

Ohhh - CTC event - does that mean full mudguards are required?

Hi Al, no mudguards required, ride whatever you like. It's a well run event with good grub at the lunch stop. Mind you we are lunching at a new venue this year. A fairly flat route apart from the Wizard climb from Alderley Edge and a couple of short steep sections around Macclesfield.

I have sent my entry form off today. Doing the 50. My first such event. Really looking foward to it.

A great ride despite the downpour for the first hour or so. The new lunch stop was a bit of a nightmare. 45 minutes to get a sarnie and cake!! A better turnout than recent years.

Yes - it was fun. I spoke to Mrs Clift after the event and she said that a large number of riders had turned up on the day which made catering a bit chaotic. She said that next year the event will have pre-book only so that catering numbers are known in advance. Understandable I think. Anyway I'll definitely be back next year.
