Thanks all for the tips, I will fettle today with saddle
Re: saddle position, best place to start is to make sure it's level, (and centred). Simply use a spirit level with the bike on level ground to achieve this, if a spirit level won't sit right just place a book on the saddle and put the level on that.

Most folk tend to be fine with a level saddle, so while you may need further tweaks it's always a great place to start.

For more on bike set up THIS is worth a mooch

Having a fiddle with the saddle position is a very good place to start, I've just done that with great improvements plus I'm getting a Spoon saddle as suggested by others as its not too much money.. ( the last thing you want to do is buy a dear saddle and it wont work for you) but I can live with the price of a Spoon saddle..
PS.. More riding and a good cream and padded shorts will help as well..

Another vote for easing up a little, or at least don't try going much further per week for the next few weeks.

Your commute is not long, so you could look at adding a mile or two to that a couple of times a week on the way home - on the way in you probably just want to get to work.

On the subject of fettling, it's worth going around the bike with the multi-tool to see if any of the fixings need nipping up.

Vibration often causes them to loosen, particularly after the first few rides on a new bike.
