Hi one and all,
Sorry for radio silence. Obviously, since getting my new bike have not had time for the internet!
Seriously, absolutely love this cycling lark and is far too addictive. Everyone I meet I now extol the virtues of cycling. I will post up pics of my Tricross this week. However, sadly, my camera got nabbed in Rome so the initial shots got lost!
Anyhow, one of my friends is now determind to venture into the world of cycling when she starts her teacher training in September. Yet, she has not ridden since a kid so doesn't want to shell out much on a bike in case she hates it. I have managed to persuade her off a £120 monstrosity from Halfords. If she gets that type of bike, of course she will hate it, and give up straight away.
So, any advice on an extremely cheap entry level bike for cycling the roads of Bristol (not far, imagine it will be a 3k commute each way) that means she won't hate cycling and then I can get her to upgrade to a proper bike. I imagine secondhand will be the way to go, but not sure on what type of bike you can get for around £120 secondhand. She won't go for drop bars.
Any tips (or anyone with a bike for sale around the Bristol area) more than welcome!!
