Cheap dynamo lights

I've just tried a cheap set of dynamo lights off ebay to see how I got on with this sort of light. They've almost put me off the idea of dynamo lights completely. They were terrible! It will be intresting to see just how a hub dynamo and a good light compare.

ive not chosen i light yet, i am currently looking into choosing a light to get the best out of the dynamo, LED is the way I want to go. I would like to build my own but have no experience of electronic circuitry.

anyone got one of these wheels from bonthrone bikes?
I ordered one, awaiting shipment in the next week or two, ready for. Matching it to a rear A319 rim with shimano coaster brake, marathon plus 28s, 531 frame, steel forks, full mudguards, on one mary bars, airzount, rack etc. ... watch out cars this winter!!!!!

I've got this wheel, not from Bonthrone, I think Wiggle is where I got mine from. Sturdy is the nice word for it others may say heavy. I've got a Vittoria Rubino 25 on it, perhaps too small for the rim, rides a little harsh. Not had any problems with the wheel at all though.
