Went into Halfjords today, Brother wanted some paint for his motorbike to touch up some scratches. As we walked in I see an Apollo for £25. To be sold as seen. Halfords have done this before so curious I had a look.
I joked to Bro that I could snap that up, replace the missing parts (bolt on stem, left shifter for front derailler) and fix the mudguard and set the brakes up properly (I think they installed the pin on the tektro Vs in the middle slot rather than the middle of the three, so they dont spring back). Twist the handlebar grips into the right position too.
Brother said - buy it, then sell it on. So I bought it.
Got chatting to the lad in there, regular rider - bit peaved at his colleage for putting that particular bike out and not just sorting it.
Bike is £200 on their website. Apollo Highway, seems well enough built for a basic bike.
