With my Disco 501 still langusihing in Barcelona I needed a bike quickly. Something to get me through a few cold months on the canal, keep me going till spring. So I have been trawling the web with my budget, a budget of £50.
I wanted something, useable, simple (no pansy suspension), and to be have been made by a reputable manufacturer. This is what I got, a GT Outpost. God knows how old it is, maybe mid 90's (?) but it's only seen light use, new gear cables fitted, I added an old Blackburn rack and a pannier from the depths of my cellar. It made it's debut today, a 40 mile round trip to Skipton mainly on the canal and it performed perfectly. I blew the budget tho' it cost ......................£52.13.
