 Great banter, as per usual!

The String Road from the east with touring kit may be 'a bit steep', as they say, even more so if @Fubar is bringing his trailer with all the things he threatened to tow along .

HJ and I came through the middle with panniers a few years back. West to east is definitely the easier way to go over the String Road, even though we were carrying very heavy stomachs at the time, too, from the amazing breakfast feast we'd been given at the Lochside B&B in Blackwaterfoot:mrpig::mrpig: ...

If I manage to leave work early, I'll definitely head north from Brodick ...

If it's a nice day, the clockwise tour is lovely and since we can't get into the hostel until after 5 anyway, why not amble round with lunch stop at the golf club. I thought we were intending to go this way in the first place?

If it's raining, then the more direct route has a certain attraction and we can stop for dinner at the distillery cafe instead.

Totally agree, let's just aim for the 12:30 boat with that route in mind and decide from there.

Hiya!
I'm back  15 days in a trot working, now looking forward to our wee trip ^_^
So we agree for the 12.30 ferry, train from Weegieland at 11.18.
Gonna relay the info to the girls

Brill Pat, good to have you back! In terms of food, what do you think is do-able and what do you need everyone to bring? Not sure if there are any veggies in our group - I was also wondering about transporting meat in (hopefully!) warm panniers...?!?

Hey all - goodness looks like I've got some reading to catch up with before the off next Friday :reading: No time to plough through it all now but I'm glad to see that we're going for a nice civilised start time for those of us that struggle with crack of dawn starts (ahem )

Don't worry it's mostly mince - essentially bring a padlock if you want to lock stuff up, a bike lock, some money and we need to bring our own food for the first night as there aren't many shops! Ladies rooms have towels and their beds made up for them, blokes have to do their own  - which is a bit mean...

Otherwise be at the boat for 12:30 (or the train for 11:18) and we're pretty much sorted!

That reminds me. I should probably get round to fixing mine before next Friday...

I've got mine booked in at Dales for a service this weekend, so it's in tip-top condition for the rigours of our wee adventure! :bicycle:

(can't necessarily say the same thing for the owner!)
