Or more accurately, replacing one. Mine has started to slip in 3rd and 4th and for the sake of £10 I might just try a new one.
So, on a scale of 1-10, how hard is it?
1 = pump up tyres, 10 = build bike from scratch.

It's a Shimano Altus 9-speed btw.

2 out of 10 , I would also change the chain and make a chain whip out of old chain so all you need is a lock ring tool and a spanner that fits it .
