How much do you put on the pad ie thickness and where abouts on the pad. Just in a certain area or all over .Thanks.

I slap mine on "the boys" and the area around them rather than on the chamois pad.

the chamois cream i have was designed for assos padded shorts,that are premium and should have years of happy riding in them but a rub of the cream on the pad keeps them supple,but if you suffer from a bit of chaffing or sweat rash a bit of cream on the effected area does help,or slap a bit on the under carriage before a long ride will prevent any thing getting worse

I have assos cream and shorts/longs i have been putting on thinly will try putting on my skin next time out see if it feels better i dont have a problem with chaffing or rashes . Its just after 40 or so miles they feel a little uncomfortable .

Exactly how i use it too. I do wonder if it would be worth taking a little with me on big rides for a top up.
Could get arrested though for a private fettle...

Totally agree, on the skin, but don,t be stingy wit it or the pad will just soak it up. I always put it on between the old chaps friends and the hideaway.
