I bought some self-adhesive felt pads from BnQ to sort out a horrendous noise problem with chair legs screeching on tiled floors (same prob on floorboards, i imagine) - the noise seems to permeate through the whole house - and next door too probably. They were OK for about 2 days then they just sort of disintegrate, fell off and are a bit rubbish. Anyone else have this problem? Do you have a different solution?

I don't have that problem, but thinking about it, one possible solution that immediately springs to mind is sellotaping marshmallows to the bottom of the chair legs.

Get some plastic ones - Ikea used to sell them... anything which reduces the slip resistance to stop the chair legs vibrating should do it. Felt pads are OK for static things but as you've found out the B+Q ones' adhesive is useless and they either delaminate or fall off.

Mr Sheen or any silicone polish on the chair feet might be enough to help them slip.

Don't drag the chairs. Pick them up to move them ^_^.

In the past I have fixed 5mm thick bits of plastic to the legs. I think I used an epoxy glue and a screw (with the head recessed in the plastic). Depends on your DIY skills on how good this looks though.

There are proper products available, like >>this<<. Not used them though.

Currently I just have a rug under the table/chairs.

The only solution is to move out of the cheap Spanish hotel you're obviously living in and find a proper house!
