Stubborn git
I'll soon need to replace most of the drive train on my MTB as it's getting tired. It's currently running an SLX triple up front which I'd like to stick with rather than swapping to a 1x system but I'm unsure of compatibility.
Are all hollowtech spindles the same diameter/width (if non Boost and triples)? From there, is it just down to the chainline or is there more to it? Both my old chainset and the newer ones are showing as 50mm chain line. It's slightly lower ratio at 40/30/22 rather than 42/32/22 but can't see that causing too many issues.
Whilst it's out the BB may aswell get changed. I think I replaced it with a PF92 last time but that has only done a couple of years. Is there anything that offers better longevity than the Shimano PF BB's.
