I've replaced my entire drivetrain apart from the rear derailleur. Being the first time I've done it, I seem to have got away with it - apart from the CLICK on the biggest chainring. The other two are unaffected.

Any advice going - please?

I had a phantom click on one of my bikes on one chainring. It took me ages to discover that it was caused by my right calf brushing against the end of the gear cable and flicking it as I pedalled.

I suffered with an irritating click on the crank for many hundreds of miles, I just could not understand it

Turns out it was new laces in my cycling shoes that were catching the bottle holder

Also victim of crank arm hitting cable scenario whilst driving me mad before I found out what the noise was.

Barnet,
Probably this, as the front mech moves over towards the larger chain ring the end of the cable is tapping against the crank arm.

That should be easy to spot as it would be very rythmical, ie, once every rotation of the crank.
