Years ago I had a chain tool that you could replace the pin. The pin wasn't stepped and was an interference fit into the screw handle. Although I cannot recall the drill size I used to make new pins by slicing short lengths off drill bits and they fitted perfectly.

I've broken a numbner of he cheap ones - they lugs break, the pin drops out od the threads get damged so spllashed out on the Shimano chain tool - better by miles.

cheap one, works reasonably well but won't last long so avoid.

The Park one arrived. As I suspected it will be dug up in 2000 years time, along with their cable cutter I already have for the workshop, and discussed as to it's possible heritage by archaeologists, quick greasing and it'll work too. The Topeak lightweight thing also arrived, this goes in the old multitool pouch with the hex and screwdriver element of the old tool and some self-adhesive patches. Along with a spare tube I hope this might be enough to save me a walk if needed again, time will tell.
