Hi

Not sure if this is the correct section but I just feel the need to big-up Chain Reaction Cycles
Ordered a new chain (among other articles) Yesterday afternoon about 3:15 and guess what I found sitting on the hallway steps this morning. Not too shabby for a free postage option.

Excellent service once more and I even got a CRC 25 Year anniversary waterbottle lobbed in free :becool:

I love you Chain Reaction.

My preferable cycle part internet retailer at the moment. They are very good with keen prices to match.

I'd agree I used to have Wiggle as my first port of call but they seem to have become significantly pricier, even accounting for the money off e-mails they keep sending me. I've bought quite a few things from CRC now and no problems, even with stuff I'd had to return(my error not theirs).

Mine too, always had good service from them.
In fact have just been looking at their site to start getting some parts for my Secteur, trouble is 1st year of doing my own maintenance so it's tools and parts which can be a minefield to find the correct stuff for the bike.

I spy 2 Spesh Secteur owners on this thread so far - what are you guys' opinions of the bike? I am thinking about investing in a more "comfortable" road bike in the new year. The truth is that I really don't like the colour scheme / decals on these bikes but the Elite does certaily tickle my fancy at around 800 quid! Also considering the Trek Pilot 2.1. I like drops but just feel that the bars are always too low - I want something that allows bars and saddle to be pretty much level...

Cheers,
SD

The 2010 Elite for £800 would be a great choice for a more comfortable road bike, especially when you look at the 2011 Sport that is only £50 cheaper.
Many happy owners on here, mine has become a fully fledged commuter now, rack, guards,Durano+ tyres, etc
Just about to upgrade the brakes to 105's which I think a few owners have already done, the stock brakes don't inspire much confidence especially in the wet.

Ian - do you have the Elite/Sport/Basic model?

Ahh, a wise choice
I went for the 10speed one, with magic link for £15 in the sale.

Yeah hope so mate, next thing is cassettes, bottom brackets etc. Is it worth upgrading these as the stock ones wear out or just replace like with like?

The cassette is 105 anyway. The supplied Crankset is stock. You should be able to pick up a nice deal for a 105 crackset. I got a triple 105 for £60 on Chain Reaction.
The bb's are cheap as chips anyway.

Maybe on your Elite, mine is Tiagra cassette,bb is <£12 for a straight swap, like the idea of 105 crankset though.
