I always check CRC 1st when I need something, always had great service from them.
Tredz has a cracking amount of gear, BUT it isn't always clear what is in stock and what isn't, 2 or 3 times now I have ordered seemingly in stock stuff only to get am E-mail the next day saying that my order has been delayed due to stock problems.
In fairness they still normally get it to me within the week, but I think it's a bit poor tbh.

Have to agree with most of the above - CRC have always been good with me - quick delivery and communicated well when any issues such as a delay in stock arriving. Must have been an off day for one member of staff??

One other not mentioned above I used for a reasonably specialist purchase was www.cyclestore.co.uk. I placed an order with one item in stock and one out of stock. They contacted me as to whether I wanted the in stock item posting with the other one to follow, and also emailed to let me know when the other item had arrived in stock. Overall good service.

Hope you can find what you want.

Agree with Potsy ref what is actually in stock at Tredz. One site that has not been mentioned on here is Rutland Cycles, as well as an internet site they are my local bike shop at Rutland Water, well worth a visit. I needed a single speed chain today and no one had it in stock, rang Rutland and they have ordered it for me and matched the cheapest price I could have found it anywhere else.
Also worth a punt is Bike24.com, a german site with some very competitive prices, especially good for lights.

Another thumbs up for Rutland Cycles Cycling I bought the wrong size SPD shoes from them recently, returned them, and they have been great at communicating and friendly to boot

Edit: Rutland Cycling

I can usually find something on CRC, ProBikekit or Wiggle all three have great speedy service unless they are out of stock. If I needed something fast I'd use a lbs though or if it was something I needed to try on first or were unsure about. The Ed Bike CoOp is site useful too but I tend to just look there to see what they've got and visit the actual shop.

Not had a prob with CRC

Impressed with wiggle, first order with them for a 99p cassette spacer on economy (free) delivery arrived within 24hrs

WOW!

Thank you all for the masses of responses!

I'd only heard good things about Chain Reaction which why I tried them first... It just goes to show that one bad experience is enough to put you off for life.

I will certainly look into some of those stores.

I'm basically looking for these of the equivalent:

http://www.chainreac...9&ModelID=24632

Schwa-waddy...waddy Crazy Bob Sport... or any other road friendly (even bald) tread pattern with pot hole absorbing, raised kerb jumping qualities

26x2.35 with low rolling resistance and wet road grip sounded spot on - And would have probably looked epic on a mountain bike!

Even these looked good with 26x2.0:

Anyone mentioned Merlin yet? They're consistently excellent.
Though I've not really had a bad experience with any online bike retailer.

I don't recall having any problems with CRC, either.

Yesterday I rung them as the due date had changed on the website to the 23rd asking about alternatives I could swap to as I didn't want to wait that long... but they were really rude about it, so I cancelled the order.
Not sure whether you mean, alternative products from CRC, or an alternative supplier other than CRC? If the latter, you can hardly expect them to be the most diplomatic!

Must be a hiccup with CRC i emailed them over 24 hours ago trying to get them to change an order and no reply, maybe someone in charge of stock is off ill .
