As I was cycling home from work last night I noticed that the chain was making like a grinding noise as i peddled. can anyone offer advice

Depends on the noise! My first guess is that your chain needs a clean and lube.

could b the bottom bracket if you got one on my old bike i felt grinding checked everything it was the bb dont hurt to check it
