I use a Scottoiler on my trike: it keeps the chain very 'clean' and it is very convenient to just ride along and squeeze the 'squid' every few miles. A tadpole trike does give a chain a fairly easy ride though, as it doesn't flick grit up onto the chain with the front wheels like a conventional bike does.

I've got a Scottoiler on my bike too. Can't fault it. Quiet, easy to clean and doesn't create the grinding 'paste' the Finish Wet Line lubricant did which was previously applied by the LBS.

I would avoid chain lube that comes in an aerosol cannister (e.g. muck-off chain lube). The lube tends to block the nozzle.
