Chain hanger query

Having recently acquired a carbon bike noticed seat stay does not have a chain hanger. Think that could be a real nuisance trying to sort a rear puncture. Is this the norm on CF frames ?
Can you buy some sort of strap-on ( ooh er missus ) hanger ?

You'll probably only find chain hangers brazed onto steel frames - haven't seen one on Aluminium or Carbon. Have not seen any retro-fittable solutions.
Never had a problem changing rear wheel without one.

Wrap some cloth tape round the seatstay where you want to put the chain hanger.
Go to Halfords and get a Hose Clip, like this.

You want the smallest.

Position the clip on the seatstay so the screw head acts as a "Chain Hanger".

Ta for any and all comments. Have never changed a rear out without hanging the chain. Just imagined it would be a bit awkward refitting wheel without something keeping the chain out of the way.

I've got them on my best bike, but tend not to bother when changing wheels - it was mainly useful when transporting the bike in the car to races - stopped the chain flapping about.

I didn't know what a chain hanger was until I read this thread and investigated.

Me neither. If fact I still don't know, and as I've obviously lived without one for all these years I assume I don't need one.

A chain hanger's really handy on a non-derailleur bike when you take the rear wheel out.

here is a more normal one on an old klein

you never see them anymore as they are a complete waste of time, and totally unnecessary
