so I merely adjusted my wipe to lube ratio, which seems fine now.

Some things are funny when taken out of context...
^_^

Mickle method for me too, have used the Finish Line dry lube before, but am trying GT85 now as recommended by some cycling friends.

I'm a huge fan of baby wetwipes. They are awesome. I used baby wipes and then lube with a little Green Oil and have never had a problem.
I make more of an effort after a wet ride but I try not to do too many of them as I'm a bit nesh.
They are. Use them for household cleaning too. You realise how good they are when they take the oil & grease off your hands that you'd usually have to use Swarfega for.

Always worried about the effect they had on my daughter's bum when she was a baby though!!

Coming from an MTB background I can recommend chain baths that clip to the bike and immerse the chain in a cleaner. Bought a couple from Aldi last year and fill them with citrus degreaser

you DON'T want to de-grease the chain --- and thus remove oil from within the plates and rollers

just a good clean running the chain through a clean rag then spot oil on every link
then repeat and repeat till the oil on the rag is 'clean'

did 2 bikes last week - astounded at the crap which came off - running sweet now on clean cogs..!
