That red route, where it's crossed by the blue route near the East Coast of Clare, is a narrow road that can be busy with farm traffic at anytime of year.

Travelling eastwards along that red route gives what some claim is a killer hill. You reach the high point of the R463 just before you turn south, and downhill to Killaloe.

Ennis is currently undergoing major road overhauls. Killaloe council is proposing a trial of foot traffic only over the bridge to Ballina. Diverting traffic further south to the new bridge over The Shannon. Where the red route continues south.

Tuamgraney is home to a triangular roundabout.
