Great news Banjo, well done indeed.:bravo::biggrin::bravo:

Would you like to share the secrets of your success to help those of us on the same path? How much cycling did you put in to achieve that? I assume you worked on your diet as well? Did you use any other forms of exercise to supplement the cycling?

+1 I've just got under the Obese threshold, and have got another couple of stone to shift, so any tips would be appreciated.

Many thanks to everyone for the congratulations etc.

I have changed my diet a bit but not much. Im not on a diet as such just have only one fried breakfast per week instead of about 3 before.Have oats muesli and toast or banana now.

I avoid greay stuff and eat a bit less red meat more turkey and chicken.Occasionally fish.

Dont drink as much beer and wine as I did before.

Cycling is the main reason for success Im sure. I have done nearly 3000 miles all up since March. I cycle to work which is only 2.8 miles each way but up a big hill homeward bound. Then cycle a lot in free time.Due to working long hours on a rota I probably get more useable time off than someone doing 9 to 5 job which helps.Swings and roundabouts though I will be working 25th Dec for example.

Someone mentioned getting a new suit, Funny thing is I gave it away this morning.New one will have to wait as I went for a Scott speedster instead of a burtons 2 piece:biggrin:

Bloody well done mate.

Your posts and your enthusiasm have been an inspiration - your success is well deserved. Keep it up.

It seems weight is a prime motivator for new cyclists, and posts like this show it can be done, it's a milestone I think lots of us aspire to - I know I do.

Nice one banjo. Great feeling to shed the pounds last xmas i was 2 stone heavier than now.... cycling has worked wonders and let me see more of the countryside too.

Keep up the good work.

Well done!

I've got about half a stone to shift to be happy with myself, I've already bought jeans a size smaller, and they are starting to feel loose. It's been slow, very slow, I guess I started to think about losing a bit this time last year and have shed a bit over half a stone, but I'm hoping that very slow and steady is the way to keep it off. I've cycled more this summer, cut down my portion sizes a bit and tried to resist some of the snacking. Now that I'm working in a physical job outdoors, I'm even able to have an extra pasty at lunchtime!

I've just checked a BMI calculator and my half stone target puts me just into normal, so if more active people get a slight 'benefit of the doubt' as jeltz says, then I'm doing better that I thought...
