I could do that

If I can get a lift/drive direct to the meeting, I'd bring my MTB. Otherwise I'm looking at a 70+ mile day from Pitlochry, and I've found a less-scary looking route in from there.

This assumes that I have been given that weekend off of course.... fingers crossed.

I voted Saturday simply because I think there are more trains, haven't checked yet ^_^
Can't wait to ride round the lake with @SatNavSaysStraightOn, will make my way there, route depending on train timetable.

A suggestion for those driving:
Drive to Kinlochrannoch, park car at end of loch, cycle … wherever …, return to car, drive away content.

Logistics for me look a bit trickier. My best option is to simply drive to Pitlochry and ride to the meet from there. I would just need a place to park all day at Pitlochry.
Just outside of Pitlochry to the north but not on the A9 is a forestry commission car park at (I'll find the name shortly) where you can park all day free of charge. It is just past the north bound A9 junction but before the campsite and the queen's view turning.
No issues with spaces, and there is even a toilet and a few picnic benches. We have parked up there all day before now when we did one of our bigger rides out of the back (east) of Pitlochry.

Google Earth reveals a few parking spots
And there is plenty of parking to be had along the shores of Loch Rannoch and even on the south side of loch tummel. Plus if you wanted a hill climb to finish on you could park up at the top of the Scheihallion road at the lime kiln and have a wonderful descent into either Kinloch Rannoch or loch tummel, then an interesting but not difficult climb back to your car that evening...

Oh and from years of knowing the area (maybe that should read decades?) if it was me, I would be parking up at the shopping outlet centre thingy at Calvine and cycling in from there. The road is a much nicer and quieter road with a much better road surface and the climb is a nice steady gradient. It is also a faster road for cycling and coming back in failing evening light will stay much lighter much longer because it is not hemmed in by rocks and trees which makes the Queen's view route (north side of loch tummel) so dangerous. It is actually fast becoming my preferred route for cycling into Pitlochry! I don't know if the train stops at Calvine, but I would imagine it does. Calvine is about 10 minutes further north on the A9 and well just do the Google earth thingy on the two roads and you will see that they could not be more different!

There's no station at Calvine, but there is one in Blair Atholl. The "shopping outlet centre thingy at Calvine" is House of Bruar, I assume? I'm not sure how fussy they are about people using their car park but not going into the shop!

Yes that's the thingy. I don't do shops...
Haven't seen any obvious issues and people clearly use it for hiking and rambling... But it is a very much nicer route to loch Rannoch much nicer and quieter.... Better light as well, quality of if you like photography. There are far more options that side than queen's view.

Fair enough. I don't stop there very often (being of the opinion that it the food is a bit expensive and the whole place a bit posh if you are coming back from a weekend on the hills...) I didn't know that you could get in to Loch Rannoch from there, either!

I think there are 2 car parks (one on the other side of the road) which from memory they don't monitor - I doubt they would know. Run in and use their toilets!

The Trinafour road is awesome. It was the best part of my April misadventure (although I went via Tummel Bridge instead of Kinloch Rannoch)

And whilst the climb looks like it should be horrendous it is not. It is one of those nice easy gradients from the south side that you know if there but it is not a problem, from the other side (heading south) the wide open glen and the views plus the light mean that most of the climb is over and done with before you hit one of the steeper parts. BTW it is only 18 miles from Calvine to Liarn Farm where I am staying (27-30 or so from Pitlochry) 22m from Blair Atholl....
