Bike received from Decathlon, new bar tape fitted (they did a truly awful job at that) so it'll need to be stuck into the LBS for re-wrapping (I won't even attempt it). Some things need adjusting, the tyres need pumped up and the gears need a bit of work - all easy jobs. Then I've got to fit these mudguards which people have said is very very hard  I bought some bib shorts which I'm not sure of, bought them over regular shorts after hearing that they're 100x better but only time will tell. Bought some bottle cages and some new water bottles too

How many people are coming along tomorrow?

Cmoooooon, it'll be fun.

:bicycle: + :hungry: = ^_^

Crikey Jaz - that decathlon crew sound a bit ropey. Cant say I've ever bothered with mudguards on my road bikes so cant help witb tips there - but wrapping your bars is fairly straightforward and a good skill to learn, give it a go - even my 11 yr old managed his bars with only a couple of wee hiccups. some good visual tutorials on youtube.

I'll give it a shot but not tonight, I might have a bash at it tomorrow after the ride - I just don't want anything going wrong! The guy's sort of wrapped it backwards (not sure if that makes sense) so the jaggy corners are pointing upwards instead of facing down. Just about to level the new shifter that the guy put on, they're at totally different angles

Mudguards can be tricky to fit. The weather forecast is dry so i'd just leave them off for tomorrow. The weatherman said 3 dry days to come, hurrah!

Cheers Pat. Unfortunately it's difficult to organise these rides at the weekend, never mind during the week. Those of us still in have an awful lot of cake to eat on behalf of the others...but we'll do our best.

I'm sure we can manage the cake, it's a really selfless act if you think about it :hungry:
