Hi folks,

I'm planning an easy-paced Sunday ride (loop) on Sun 14th Aug, starting and finishing in Musselburgh, and taking in some East Lothian hills - notably Redstone Rigg.

Anyone who wants to come along is more than welcome.

Choice of two routes depending on how people feel at the time.

Route 1 - 58.4mi; 3543ft climbing.
Musselburgh, Carberry, Gifford, Danskine, Whiteadder, Garvald, Haddington, Drem, Dirleton, Gullane, Longniddry, Cockenzie, Prestonpans, Musselburgh.

Route 2 - 49.4mi; 3087ft climbing.
Musselburgh, Carberry, Gifford, Whiteadder, Garvald, Haddington, Gladsmuir, Macmerry, Tranent, Wallyford, Musselburgh.

Both routes contain quite a bit of climbing so although it will an easy paced ride, it will be challenging (for me anyway ;)).

Pace: Easy

Meeting: Musselburgh Harbour car park, beside The Quay restaurant.

Depart: 10:00am Sun 14th Aug.

Hope to see some CycleChatters there

Unfortunately I can't make it, as I'm doing the Glasgow 100 sportive that day.

Hope you have a good day out!

Half raises a hand and mumbles incoherently "need to check with the diary sec."

I have some unfininshed business with this bloody hill I doubt if I will be able to ignore the challenge.

Never mind Jim, I'll be posting more rides in the not too distant future.

Will that be your first ton then, going by your signature? Brill! Bet you're looking forward to it, hope you enjoy the ride!

Cheers Dave....it will officially be my first ton (although I should count the 95 mile Skye Sportive as a ton because of the conditions).

I am indeed looking forward to it...hoping for decent weather.

Yeah, I'll go along to that one, count me in. Route 01 would be my preference. I'm doing the 50 mile Ken Laidlaw the following week so that looks like a good training run for that.

Not sure about the 14th yet, a friend is going to be in Edinburgh that weekend, and there will be a "time slot" for us at some point ...

On the understanding that triple chain sets are permitted and there will tea and medals en-route..............I'm in.

R1 would be my prefered option but happy to tag on to the back of the autobus.

I have dusted down the CC Ecosse lantern rouge; going to try my best to retain possession of it.

I'm going to come to this one, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Either route option works for me...
