Can I ask a question about the route...........
It appears to take in the A9 quite a bit, a big bit....... Can someone tell me that it is NOT a harem scarem heart in your mouth kinda, you might survive, you might not kinda tour!? Reassurance needed and I might believe the first answer I get!
There is a completely segregated off-road cycle path that runs alongside the A9 between Blair Atholl and Dalwhinnie. It was perfectly rideable when I was last there, although that was in 2004 so YMMV!

If you are on about the bit over Drumochter Pass, there's no riding on the A9. There's a cycle path off to the side :smile:

It occurred to me that if it is a 4-day cycling tour to get to Inverness based on the original plan we will be cycling on all 4 days so would either be staying overnight in Inverness on the Monday or getting to Inverness then getting the train home - if staying overnight it will be a Friday-Tuesday tour, extra days' leave required for most;
OR
We divide the 200mile ride into 3 days, getting to Inverness Sunday night. I appreciate there will be mixed abilities but we are still only talking approx 67 miles per day, just over 100k (may have to be slightly longer depending on accommodation stops).

Thoughts?
